Witchfinder General "Death Penalty" CD. Witchfinder General was one of the few NWOBHM bands to go straight for the early-Sabbath sound, a style that would become popular many years later. Both albums are amongst the best NWOBHM albums ever, particularly Death Penalty where the Black Sabbath style is most evident. WITCHFINDER GENERAL - Friends Of Hell (1983, re-released 1998)

Witchfinder General "Friends of Hell" reissue CD. "U.K. NWOBHM (New wave of British Heavy Metal) band are more or less pretty obscure to the mainstream nowadays. Unfortunately, the band broke up after 2 album releases. Their brand of classic metal and DOOM metal is still refreshing to hear today- one could classify them as very- BLACK SABBATH-Like (Ozzy-era). Witchfinder General still have a HUGE cult following in the metal music scene, and their original vinyl releases are very sought after by collectors! "... from Rockadrome.

WITCHFINDER GENERAL

I WITCHFINDER GENERAL sono una delle mie bands preferite, formata nel 1979 a Stourbridge, Inghilterra, un gruppo della New Wave of British Heavy Metal in circolazione durante i primi anni 1980. Essi sono fortemente influenzati dai BLACK SABBATH di cui sono a mio parere gli eredi naturali del loro inconfondibile stile ed oggi sono ampiamente riconosciuti come uno dei pionieri del Doom Metal.

La ragazza nuda in copertina causò al gruppo diverse noie burocratiche di censura e di distribuzione del disco, in quei giorni, nel 1982 quella ragazza era una centerfold, praticamente una modella che si spoglia invece di vestirsi.., il suo nome è Joanne Kandy Latham, questo è il suo sito ufficiale www.joannelatham.co.uk. In quei periodi aveva una relazione con Zeeb Parkes.

All tracks recorded live at Tiffany's, 27A Oxford Street, Manchester - Wed. 6th July '83 except Shadowed Images and start of Quietus - The Palais, Humberstone gate, Leicester - Thurs. 7th July '83.
Released on CD first, and as a DLP later.
Due to a faulty mastertape, the music on the initial CD release of this album runs at a slower speed than normal. However, the DLP release of this album (released December 2006), has fixed this error. The vinyl die-hard edition came with a bonus 7" featuring "Music" and a radio clip. The CD was rereleased with the LP artwork and corrected speed on April 24, 2007.

SAINT VITUS

I Saint Vitus sono il miglior gruppo doom metal americano, capaci, alla fine degli anni '70 inizio '80, di fare totalmente loro il discorso già intrapreso 15 anni prima dai Black Sabbath.
La maturità musicale e il successo mondiale é sicuramente tra il 1986 e il 1990 grazie all'ingresso di Scott "Wino" Weinrich che con la sua professionalità e carattere forte fa conoscere il gruppo a tutti gli orfani dei migliori Sabbath.. i migliori album del gruppo sono stati e rimarranno per sempre quelli con il primo cantante, Scott Reagers, che assieme agli altri tre componenti sono stati la massima espressione artistica e creativa della band.

Il gruppo si forma nel 1978 a Los Angeles, California, con il cantante Scott Reagers, il chitarrista Dave Chandler, il bassista Mark Adams e il batterista Armando Costa.

L'unico album dei SAINT VITUS che non è mai stato rilasciato ufficialmente su CD. Nel 2002 una label misteriosa la S.O.S. (Sons Of Sabbath, Doom Classics) rilasciò un mezzo bootleg CD limitato a 300 copie che conteneva anche l' EP The Walking Dead come bonus tracks, CD rarissimo che a sua volta è stato addirittura ri-bootlegato... quanti macelli può fare la burocrazia....
